Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making vugapublishing.com usable for everyone — and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
VUGA Publishing is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
1. Standards We Follow
vugapublishing.com is built to conform with the following standards:
2. What We've Done
Specific practices we follow on this site:
- Semantic HTML — landmarks (
<header>,<main>,<nav>,<footer>), proper heading hierarchy, and lists used as lists. - Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable via keyboard. A "Skip to content" link appears on focus. The mobile menu opens with Enter/Space and closes with Escape.
- Visible focus indicators — every focusable element shows a high-contrast outline when focused via keyboard.
- Color contrast — body and UI text meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against background; large text meets 3:1.
- Alt text on informative images; decorative images marked with empty
alt="". - Forms with labels — every input has a programmatically associated
<label>; required fields are marked both visually and witharia-required. - Reduced motion — animations and smooth-scroll respect the user's
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - Responsive design — content reflows on screens from 320 px wide upward and supports 200% browser zoom without loss of functionality.
- Plain-language content — pages are written in clear, direct English; jargon is avoided.
3. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, you may encounter the following limitations:
- Embedded third-party content — book retailer logos and external publisher network links open content on third-party sites that we do not control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of those external sites.
- Older PDFs — if any downloadable PDFs are added in the future, we will tag them for accessibility. We do not currently host PDFs.
- Custom fonts — we use Google Fonts (Oswald and Raleway). If a font fails to load, the site falls back to the system default; layout remains usable.
We test on the latest two versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. We test screen-reader behavior on macOS VoiceOver, iOS VoiceOver, and NVDA on Windows.
4. How to Request Help or Report a Problem
If you cannot access something on this site or find an accessibility barrier, we want to hear from you. Please contact us:
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: 1 (833) 900-8842
When you contact us, please describe:
- The page URL where you encountered the problem;
- What you were trying to do;
- The assistive technology you were using (e.g., NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS, Dragon, switch control);
- The browser and operating system.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within 2 business days and to provide a substantive response — including either a fix or an alternative way to access the content — within 5 business days.
5. Alternative Formats
Information on vugapublishing.com is available in alternative formats on request, including large-print versions, plain-text email of any page's content, or telephone read-back of pricing and order details. Email [email protected] with what you need.
6. Ongoing Work
Accessibility is a continuous effort, not a one-time milestone. We review our site for accessibility on every major content update and run automated and manual audits at least quarterly. Findings are tracked and remediated.
7. Formal Complaints
If we have not addressed your accessibility concern to your satisfaction, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (Civil Rights Division) at ada.gov/file-a-complaint, or — for federal-program contexts — under Section 508 at section508.gov.
